The range
The Lord Matic, or LM range was introduced by Seiko in 1968. It was a middle range of automatic movement watches, with the hacking second and the manual winding feature. All had a stainless steel case and bracelet, most of them had a glass crystal.
The range called Lord Matic Special, fitted with the 5206 & 5216 movements has been introduced a couple of years later.
The range was discontinued in ca 1975, the automatic middle range watches being partly abandonned to the profit of the quartz.

The brand
Introducing Seiko would be useless, it is the most important manufacturer in the world. Founded 120 years ago, it really begun to be a leader in the 60’s/70’s thanks to their automatic watches and of course with their quartz models.
Seiko invented many concepts (analogic and LCD quartz, Kinetic watches, Spring Drive, etc) and marketed all sorts of designs. Its range of watches is incredibly wide, answering almost all budget, design or quality questions.
