Rare Seiko Presmatic 5106-7040 with day (in English) and date. The Presmatic is the successor of the Seikomatic-P, it has been produced a couple of years with the 5106 and 5146 (Hi-Beat) movements. The name Presmatic refers to the date quickset, witch is triggered by pressing the crown.
The 7040 shiny/brushed stainless steel case with screw back is in good condition, white textured dial and broad baton hands.

The overall condition of the watch is good to very good.

The Seiko 5106 movement has been cleaned and serviced and is holding good time, the balance having an good amplitude.

I don’t think the steel bracelet is original even if Seiko is embossed on the clasp. However, it is vintage too and suits very well the watch. The crystal is original, I polished it. It’s in good condition.

A nice piece that is rarely seen.

Vintage watch with unknown history but serviced (06/2022), checked and cleaned. Water resistance non tested.
The pictures are actual and part of the description, so look carefully at them.

Year of manufacture

The brand

Introducing Seiko would be useless, it is the most important manufacturer in the world. Founded 120 years ago, it really begun to be a leader in the 60’s/70’s thanks to their automatic watches and of course with their quartz models.
Seiko invented many concepts (analogic and LCD quartz, Kinetic watches, Spring Drive, etc) and marketed all sorts of designs. Its range of watches is incredibly wide, answering almost all budget, design or quality questions.
