Description
Seldom vintage Seiko King KS Special 5246-6000 “Chronometer officially certified” from 1971. Nice brushed/shiny stainless steel case in good condition, original KS signed crown. White canvas textured dial with thin steel hour markers. Day and date at 3 o’clock, with a working quickset.
The watch is in its original condition including the glass crystal. It has some minor scratches.
The automatic Seiko 5246 movement has just been serviced and is holding very good time (+ 3 s/j), the balance having a good amplitude.
For the user, the main difference between this 52xx movement and the usual 56xx is the day and date mechanism, both day and date flip instantly at midnight. Moreover, no risk of breaking the quickset, the setting wheel is here made of metal.
Of course, the architecture of the 52 calibre is quite different than the one of the 56 and is probably one of the best vintage Seiko movements.
Finally, the watch comes with a brand new leather band.
