Description
Nice swiss “all weather” Nivada Antarctic from ca 1960, fitted with an manual-winding ETA 1093 movement. This Antarctic range was introduced in the late 50’s, after the polar expeditions of Sir Richard Byrd. Nivada was the official provider of the watches of the project. The competitor ranges of that time were the Kontiki from Eterna or the Conquest from Longines.
This model has a beautiful all stainless steel case with a screwback. The crystal and the leather band are new. The dial has quite patina but still is lovely. The diamond shaped indexes are typical of this model.
The ETA calibre holds good time, it has just been verified.
Vintage watch with unknown history but checked and cleaned. Water resistance non tested.
The pictures are actual and part of the description, so take attention to them.
