Description
Very nice Seiko 5 5126-8050 in good to very good overall condition. It was produced in 1968 according to its serial number. This Seiko 5 belongs to the new generation of “5” introduced in 1967 and based on the 5126 and 5139. That 2nd generation will be a transition range, quickly outdated by the new 70xx and 61xx movements on which the 5 will thrive then.
We have here a nice silver dial, dauphine hands and steel hour markers. Days in English and date at 3 o’clock (with a working quickset). The case is in good condition, with some normal light wear. The fluted bezel is in good condition.
The movement is a Seiko 23-jewel automatic 5126. It has been serviced, it works great, holding good time (gaining about 10 s/d), the balance having a good amplitude. The crystal is new. Finally, the watch comes with a new leather band
That’s a model that I like especially, it’s not spectacular but it’s simple design and quite big dial makes it particularly readable.
Vintage watch without known history but serviced (01/2025) and cleaned. Water resistance non tested.
