Description
Beautiful Seiko 5 DX 5139-7020 in good to very good overall condition. It was produced in October 1967 according to its serial number. This Seiko 5 belongs to the new generation of “5” introduced in 1967 and based on the 5126 and 5139. That 2nd generation will be a transition range, quickly outdated by the new 70xx movement on which the 5 will thrive then.
We have here a nice flawless white dial, dauphine hands and steel hour markers. Days in English and date at 3 o’clock (with working quickset). The case is in good condition, with some normal light wear. The general design of the watch is of course linked to the production of Seiko from that time. It has many common traits with some Skyliner, King 56KS, Grand 56GS.
The movement is a Seiko 27-jewel automatic 5139. It has been serviced, it works great, holding good time (gaining about 10 s/d), the balance having an good amplitude. The crystal might be original, I polished it. Finally, the watch comes with its original stainless steel bracelet.
Vintage watch without known history but serviced (01/2025) and cleaned. Water resistance non tested.
