Description
This is a nice example of the Seiko design and technical savoir-faire : an automatic flyback chronograph in a very nice designed case. It was released in July 1971 according to its serial number. This range is substantially rarer than the 6138/6139.
The watch is in its original condition except for the acrylic crystal, which has just been replaced.
Gorgeous black dial in excellent condition, bâtons and red triangle hands. Day (in english and kanji) and date at 3, with quickset on both. The outer dial scale is a pulsimeter, dedicated to the determination of the heart beat. You have to start counting the pulsations at the same time than starting the chronoograph. After 15 heart pulsations, you stop the chronograph and just have to read the value pointed by the red hand to get the pulse in beats per minute.
The movement is a Seiko 21-jewel automatic 7017 with flyback function. It has just been serviced, it works fine (+/- 1 s/d). The chrono starts and stops, the reset/flyback comes perfectly back to its original position when pressing the lower pusher.
The overall condition is good to very good, the big pillow case has only minor wear .
Finally, the watch comes with a new rallye leather band. Definetely a impressive watch, in good condition and fully working.
Vintage watch with unknown history but serviced and cleaned (06/2022). Water resistance non tested (so no dipping or shower with this watch).
The pictures are actual and are part of the description, so please look carefully at them.
