Description
Unusual electric Seiko EL-330 watch from 1972, fitted with an electromechanical 3303 calibre. This family of electric movement was introduced in the late fifties and were the first battery powered movements. In this case, the balance isn’t powered by a spring but by a battery powered solenoid. Many manufacturers adopted that technical solutions in the 60’s and 70’s : Seiko with the EL/Elnix range, Citizen with the X8/Cosmotron, Lip (Lip Electric), Hamilton, etc.
The overall condition of this watch is good to very with light wear on the case. Flawless grey dial, baton hands in good condition. The glass crystal is original, has some light scratches but is still in good condition.
Finally, the watch comes with its original Seiko signed stainless steel bracelet.
The movement has just been serviced (July 2024) and is holding good time (+/- 10 s/d), the balance having a good amplitude (240°).
The date quickset is working.
A nice model in good condition and fully working.
Vintage watch without known history but serviced, checked and cleaned. Water resistance non tested.
