Magnificient vintage Seiko Seikomatic Weekdater, 2nd generation from June 1965. Nice 37 mm ref 8971 stainless steel case with screw back, silver dial vertically brushed (and not sunburst as it is usually the case), dauphine hands.
The case has only light wear.
The Seikomatic Weekdater has become quite iconic these few last years (isn’t it the first day and date Seiko ?), it’s classy, quite big and reliable. It represented in the mid 60’s the high end range for automatic watches made by Seiko. It has been later replaced by the King and Grand Seiko in the late 60’s.
The Seiko 6218 movement has just been serviced and is holding good time (+10 s/d), the balance having an good amplitude.
New black leather band, used but in good condition acrylic crystal.
Vintage watch with unknown history but serviced (09/2023), checked and cleaned. Water resistance non tested.
The pictures are actual and part of the description, so look carefully at them.
