Beautiful vintage Seiko Lord Marvel 5740-8000 Hi-Beat 36000 probably from 1967 and not 1977 as I first claimed it. The “Water proof” marking on the caseback was prohibited in the late 60’s, it was replaced then by “Water resistant”.. Stainless steel case in good to very good condition. White dial in good condition (a mark in the centre, not obviously visible on the pictures), thin steel hour markers, dauphine hands.
The hand wound Seiko 5740C movement is clean, has just been serviced (disassembled, cleaned, relubed, replacement of the mainspring) and is holding very good time (+ 5 s/j), the balance having a good amplitude.
Finally, the watch comes with a brand new brown leather band and a new acrylic glass.
Vintage watch without known history but checked and cleaned (09/2023). Water resistance non tested.
