\u00c0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 90, Seiko ne proposait qu'une gamme limit\u00e9e de montres m\u00e9caniques. Outre la gamme Seiko 5 bas\u00e9e sur le mouvement 7S26, le catalogue ne comprenait que quelques mod\u00e8les bas\u00e9s sur les calibres 6810 et 4Sxx, parmi lesquels la tr\u00e8s recherch\u00e9e Alpinist 4S15, quelques montres habill\u00e9es \u00e9quip\u00e9es du calibre 4S24\/4S25 et la gamme \u00ab S \u00bb comprenant la GMT 4S12 et la plus simple 4S15 militaire (SCFF001 & SCFF003). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous nous concentrerons dans cet article sur le mod\u00e8le SCFF005 GMT et ses variantes rouge (SCFF007) et bleue (SCFF009).

Pr\u00e9sentation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Le design de la SCFF s'inscrit dans la lign\u00e9e de la production Seiko de la fin des ann\u00e9es 90. La montre para\u00eet assez compacte et \u00e9paisse mais elle n'est pas trop grande, le bo\u00eetier mesure moins de 40 mm de large. La hauteur du bo\u00eetier donne une impression de profondeur au cadran. Les deux aiguilles principales sont tr\u00e8s lisibles, celle du GMT est beaucoup plus discr\u00e8te et on pourrait m\u00eame ne pas la voir. Les deux couronnes sont situ\u00e9es sur la main droite. Le bo\u00eetier est sans corne, le bracelet est enti\u00e8rement int\u00e9gr\u00e9, ce qui \u00e9tait assez courant \u00e0 l'\u00e9poque.

Le cadran et les aiguilles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Le cadran noir est dot\u00e9 de quatre index m\u00e9talliques, plac\u00e9s \u00e0 12, 3, 6 et 9 heures. Ils sont dot\u00e9s d'un rectangle lumineux sur le c\u00f4t\u00e9 ext\u00e9rieur. Les inscriptions sont sobres, le logo Seiko imprim\u00e9 sous le rep\u00e8re 12 heures suivi de la mention \u00ab Automatic \u00bb. Sur la moiti\u00e9 inf\u00e9rieure du cadran, un \u00ab S \u00bb rouge est imprim\u00e9. Enfin et comme d'habitude, tout en bas du cadran, les r\u00e9f\u00e9rences du mouvement et du cadran (8010).
Chaque minute est imprim\u00e9e sur une partie assez large du bord du cadran.
L'aiguille des heures est un rectangle blanc rempli de mati\u00e8re luminescente, celle des minutes est un crayon, \u00e9galement rempli de mati\u00e8re luminescente. L'aiguille GMT est argent\u00e9e, d\u00e9coup\u00e9e, et seule la pointe est lumineuse. L'aiguille des secondes est blanche.
Le guichet de date est situ\u00e9 \u00e0 4 heures.
Le cadran est entour\u00e9 d'une lunette tournante int\u00e9rieure sur laquelle sont imprim\u00e9s les 24 marqueurs qui composent un jour. Les heures paires sont imprim\u00e9es sous forme de chiffres, les heures impaires sous forme de petits rectangles. Pour utiliser la fonction GMT, vous devrez faire correspondre l'aiguille GMT et le d\u00e9calage du fuseau horaire. Malheureusement, la lunette GMT ne peut pas \u00eatre verrouill\u00e9e et le r\u00e9glage risque de ne pas rester en place si vous touchez la couronne de r\u00e9glage. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Le bo\u00eetier et le bracelet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Avec moins de 40 mm, le bo\u00eetier peut para\u00eetre petit en th\u00e9orie, mais avec l'ajout des deux grandes couronnes, du bracelet int\u00e9gr\u00e9 et de ses 14 mm d'\u00e9paisseur, la SCFF005 para\u00eet assez grande au poignet. Les surfaces sup\u00e9rieures sont bross\u00e9es horizontalement, les deux c\u00f4t\u00e9s du bo\u00eetier sont polis. La lunette est \u00e9galement polie. Le fond viss\u00e9 est transparent et une carte du monde argent\u00e9e est imprim\u00e9e sur le verre.
Le cristal est fait de verre Hardlex \u00e9pais et est l\u00e9g\u00e8rement bomb\u00e9.
Le bracelet est dot\u00e9 de maillons fins, rappelant certains bracelets plus anciens des ann\u00e9es 70, vus notamment sur certains mod\u00e8les LM et LM Special. La boucle d\u00e9ployante est recouverte d'un fermoir de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 sign\u00e9 Seiko.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Le mouvement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Le mouvement Seiko 4S12 est h\u00e9rit\u00e9 du 52xx introduit au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 70 avec les Seiko LM Special et KS Special. C'est un calibre assez sophistiqu\u00e9, avec 25 rubis, battant \u00e0 28 000 a\/h. Il peut \u00eatre remont\u00e9 manuellement et dispose de la fonction de seconde \u00e0 cran. L'aiguille GMT est simplement coupl\u00e9e \u00e0 l'aiguille principale des heures mais effectue une rotation compl\u00e8te en 24 heures gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une roue interm\u00e9diaire. Cela signifie que l'aiguille GMT ne peut pas \u00eatre r\u00e9gl\u00e9e individuellement comme elle peut l'\u00eatre sur un vrai mouvement GMT. Et cela signifie \u00e9galement qu'il faut lire le double fuseau horaire sur la lunette tournante int\u00e9rieure qui doit \u00eatre correctement r\u00e9gl\u00e9e pour correspondre au fuseau horaire souhait\u00e9.
Cette famille de mouvements est tr\u00e8s fiable.

En conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cette Seiko S GMT est tr\u00e8s s\u00e9duisante. La version noire fait assez sobre, les bleues et rouges sont plus funky et plus accrocheuses. On sent une impression de robustesse dans ce mod\u00e8le. Le mouvement 4S12 appartient selon moi \u00e0 l'un des meilleurs mouvements milieu\/haut de gamme fabriqu\u00e9s par Seiko et devrait \u00eatre un levier d'achat. Aujourd'hui, cette SCFF pourrait \u00eatre un bon investissement.
