Au sein de la famille Seamaster, la Cosmic incarne le changement de design et de culture de la seconde moiti\u00e9 des ann\u00e9es 60. Son nom, Cosmic, \u00e9voque sans aucun doute la p\u00e9riode que nous appelons aujourd'hui \u00ab\u00a0l'\u00e8re spatiale\u00a0\u00bb, durant laquelle la conqu\u00eate spatiale a atteint son apog\u00e9e. Alors que la Seamaster \u00e9tait une montre s\u00e9rieuse, au design tr\u00e8s standard, la Cosmic a introduit des bo\u00eetiers plus sophistiqu\u00e9s, des cadrans bicolores et des index plus originaux.
Nous nous concentrerons sur cette page sur le mod\u00e8le 166.022, caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par son bo\u00eetier carr\u00e9 coussin soleill\u00e9. Le cadran de la 166.022 est toujours compos\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re similaire\u00a0: le logo et la mention \u00ab\u00a0automatic\u00a0\u00bb sont centr\u00e9s sur la moiti\u00e9 sup\u00e9rieure, tandis que la Seamaster Cosmic est repr\u00e9sent\u00e9e sur deux lignes sur la moiti\u00e9 inf\u00e9rieure. Les index des heures sont m\u00e9talliques, de fins b\u00e2tons \u00e0 des rectangles plus \u00e9pais.
Les cadrans peuvent \u00eatre champagne, gris fonc\u00e9, argent, bleu profond ou bicolores.
Les aiguilles sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement de type crayon, avec une bande noire et une bande luminescente, comme c'\u00e9tait le cas sur de nombreux mod\u00e8les Omega. Plus rarement, les aiguilles peuvent \u00eatre dauphines.

Le bo\u00eetier <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Le bo\u00eetier 166.022 est monobloc. Pour acc\u00e9der au mouvement, il faut retirer la tige fendue et le verre. Cette solution \u00e9tait courante \u00e0 l'\u00e9poque et de nombreux fabricants l'ont adopt\u00e9e pour am\u00e9liorer l'\u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9 de leurs montres (Seiko avec les LM, 56KS, 52KS, 56GS, Longines avec l'Ultra Chron, etc.). Ses dimensions sont de 34 mm x 36 mm. Cela peut para\u00eetre petit, mais la surface couverte par le bo\u00eetier est importante gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa forme. La partie ronde du bo\u00eetier est bross\u00e9e radialement, tandis que les cornes sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement polies. Sur certains mod\u00e8les, les cornes sont \u00e9galement bross\u00e9es, mais de mani\u00e8re plus tangentielle. Le bo\u00eetier \u00e9tait \u00e9galement disponible en plaqu\u00e9 or.
Le cristal est en acrylique classique avec un anneau de tension. La couronne, reli\u00e9e \u00e0 une tige fendue, est sign\u00e9e Omega.

Trois mouvements \u00e9taient disponibles, selon leurs fonctionnalit\u00e9s\u00a0: l'Omega 552 pour le mod\u00e8le heure seule, l'Omega 565 pour le mod\u00e8le date et l'Omega 752 pour le mod\u00e8le jour et date. Tous battent \u00e0 19\u00a0800\u00a0alternances et poss\u00e8dent 24\u00a0rubis. Le r\u00e9glage rapide du jour se d\u00e9clenche en tirant sur la couronne. Ces mouvements sont assez anciens compar\u00e9s \u00e0 ceux propos\u00e9s par Longines ou Seiko, mais ils sont tr\u00e8s fiables, faciles d'entretien et pr\u00e9cis.
