This is a nice example of the Seiko design and technical savoir-faire : an automatic chronograph in a very nice designed case, with a gorgeous dial. It was released in September 1971 according to its serial number and was marketed for the japanese domestic market (JDM)
The watch is in its original condition except for the acrylic crystal, which has just been replaced.
Gorgeous black dial in excellent condition, with a tachymeter scale, batons hands (the minute one has lost a little bit of its white paint), yellow second and red minute totalizer hand. Day (in english and kanji) and date at 3, with quickset on both.
The movement is a Seiko 21-jewel automatic 6139. It has just been serviced (wheel train relubed), it works fine (- 10 s/d). The chrono starts and stops, the reset comes perfectly back to its original position when pressing the lower pusher. The day and date quickset works.
The overall condition is very good, the big pillow case has however some minor wear and the dial is in excellent condition.
Finally, the watch comes with a new thick leather band. Definetely a impressive watch, in good condition and fully working.
Vintage watch with unknown history but serviced, checked and cleaned (10/2020). Water resistance non tested (so no dipping or shower with this watch).
