Description
Beautiful Seiko Presmatic Hi-Beat 5146-7010 from 1969. The Presmatic was a kind of transition model based on the Seikomatic-P. It was in fact even the last model fitted with a 51xx calibre, here pushed to its limit of 28,800 bph (hence the Hi-Beat mention on the dial). Among other interesting features are the instant shift of the day and the date at midnight and the hacking second. Only the later 52xx family of calibres proposed such refinements.
Big brushed and polished 38 mm stainless steel case in very good condition, light blue horizontally brushed dial with minimal wear, hands and hour markers in good condition. Days in English and date at 3 o’clock with a working date quickset. Original polished acrylic crystal, original stainless steel bracelet with a “Presmatic” signed clasp. It is long enough to fit a 20 cm wrist.
The Seiko 5146 movement has just been serviced and is holding good time (+3 s/d), the balance having an good amplitude (250°).
Vintage watch with unknown history but serviced (10/2026), checked and cleaned. Water resistance non tested.
