Let me first wish you a happy new year. I hope your had a nice Christmas (and maybe new watches ?) and a nice new year’s eve.
For the beginning of 2021, I listed some interesting models, focused on the 70’s. The first one I’d like to talk about is a Seiko 5 Sports from 1971. There are two interesting points about it : these were probably the first models with a really big case, around 40 mm in general, the second point being that these were the first “5 Sports” with that really sporty look. Seiko relaunched the “5 Sports” range some years ago.
The second watch is still a “5 Sports” but is an automatic chronograph. The “5 Sports” chronograph range was called “Speed-Timer”, some had a rotating bezel (inner- or outer-) and some of them had really vivid colours. The one I listed is absolutely gorgeous with its blue dial.
Finally, the third watch is a King Seiko but not a classic designed one. Seiko introduced in the 70’s the KS Vanac range with quite eccentirc designs, reminding me the Advan range. Coloured dials, facetted crystals, strange-shaped cases…
Have a nice week.
