I always try to keep the original condition of a watch, meaning beside replacing the crystal and the bracelet when the original ones are to worn, not to replace the hands, the dial or the case. But sometimes, you just don’t have a choice… When the dial and the hands are beautiful and the case is a real crap (as it can often be with gold plated ones), you have to find a replacement case. So, this is the case (litteraly speaking 🙂 ) with this very nice Seiko Champion. I had the luck to have a stainless steel case available, coming from another Seiko Champion, which dial was in really bad condition. The transplantation was easy and the final result is coherent with the Champion range.
